Each summer, KGB Parks & Recreation hires enthusiastic, responsible staff to help lead activities, supervise campers, and create a fun and safe environment. Camp staff help organize games, crafts, outdoor adventures, field trips, and special spirit days while building strong connections with campers and fellow staff. Working at Summer Camp is a great opportunity to: Gain leadership and teamwork experience Build communication and problem-solving skills Work in a fun, active environment Make a positive impact on youth in our community Develop experience that looks great on college or job applications Summer Camp typically has 2–3 Camp Leaders and several Camp Counselors working together to provide a safe and engaging experience for all campers. Staff Training All Summer Camp staff participate in a week-long training before camp begins. During this time, staff learn everything they need to know to help create a fun, safe, and supportive camp environment. Training includes: Safety procedures and camp policies Scenario-based training to prepare for real camp situations Team-building and staff bonding activities Activity planning and camper engagement CPR/AED training Our goal is to make sure every staff member feels confident, prepared, and supported before campers arrive.
