The City of Carthage is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Public Works Director. This is a highly responsible administrative and supervisory position involving the direction and coordination of all activities of the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department includes the divisions of street, water, wastewater, stormwater, sanitation, landfill and engineering. The Public Works Director serves as the City Engineer and is responsible for professional engineering review and design of City capital improvement projects and private development projects. Requires graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; supplemented by six to eight years of progressively responsible experience in public works management, with at least four years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, abilities and skills. Must possess a Professional Engineer’s License in the State of Missouri. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Missouri driver’s license. Salary Range $85,000 - $95,000 DOQ, plus excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, paid vacation, sick leave and 10 paid holidays, and LAGERS retirement.
