Lee County Libraries to Host Local Author Festival
"LEE COUNTY, NC – March 11, 2026 – The LCL Local Author Festival, sponsored by the Friends of the Lee County Libraries, is set to celebrate the literary talent of our area on March 14 with a full day dedicated to books, creativity, and community.
This Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Local Author Festival aims to connect readers and writers, support local talent, and foster a love of reading throughout the community. From fiction and nonfiction to children’s literature, memoir, and poetry, the festival will feature something for every reader.
The event is free and open to the public and will showcase 25 local authors representing a wide range of genres, offering readers the opportunity to meet the writers behind the stories, discover new voices, and purchase copies of their books.
This year, LCL is excited to host an Author Talk with Teri M. Brown, author of Daughters of Green Mountain Gap, an NC Reads selection for 2026. Brown will share insights into her writing process, her journey to publication, and the selection process for NC Reads.
“We’re excited to see our Author Festival continue to grow,” said Beth List, Director of Library Services for Lee County Government. “It showcases local authors, gives visitors the opportunity to connect with them directly, and reflects our mission to bring unique experiences to our community.”
Families, book clubs, aspiring writers, and avid readers are all encouraged to attend.
