BLAKELY – A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Blakely, effective immediately, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee, FL. The warning was issued on October 10 at 2:07 AM EDT and remains in effect until 10:15 AM EDT today.

Residents should prepare for hazardous wind conditions, with peak wind forecasts of 10-20 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. Potential impacts include damage to lightweight structures, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages. All efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with the potential for major flooding rain. Extensive impacts are possible, including widespread evacuations and rescues, rapidly overflowing rivers, and dangerous road conditions. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.

The situation is also favorable for several tornadoes, with a potential for significant impacts including considerable damage and power loss. Listen for tornado watches and warnings. If a tornado warning is issued, shelter quickly. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter now.
