Presley Gerber Death Investigated in Santa Monica

Santa Monica, California police are investigating the death of model Presley Gerber as a suspected overdose. Gerber, 27, died Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner's office.

The medical examiner's office confirmed Monday it is investigating Gerber's death. A deputy medical examiner conducted an examination and deferred the cause and manner of death, requesting additional testing.

Sources close to the investigation told ABC News that Gerber had checked into a rehabilitation center the day before his death. Staff found him unresponsive Sunday morning. The medical examiner's report noted Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Presley Gerber, son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, signed with IMG Models at age 15. He modeled for Fashion Week runways and appeared in campaigns for major brands. Gerber had spoken publicly about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, including treatment after a 2019 DUI charge and a video series called "Mental Health Mondays" launched in 2024.
