Jacksonville Fire Chief Bans All Open Burning in Duval County

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department banned all open burning throughout Duval County effective immediately due to elevated wildfire risk.

Fire Chief Percy Golden II invoked Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 420.202(e) to prohibit bonfires and open burning until further notice. The ban affects yard waste burning and controlled burns on private property.

The order remains in effect until Golden lifts it. Residents should check Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department announcements for updates.
