Duval County music fans are cautiously optimistic after rock band Aerosmith posted a series of cryptic messages on social media. The band, whose recent farewell tour was cut short, has hinted at a potential return to the live stage. This has led many local patrons to wonder if they will have another opportunity to see the band perform, possibly at a venue closer than the Hollywood Bowl.
Speculation began after lead singer Steven Tyler was photographed hanging letters on the Hollywood Bowl marquee with photographer Ross Halfin. Aerosmith's official social media account amplified this on Oct. 5, 2026, posting a photo of the marquee with the caption, "All will be revealed tomorrow. 7 a.m. PT." The announcement date mirrored the anticipation before major events at TIAA Bank Field.
However, the expected reveal on Oct. 6, 2026, only intensified the mystery. Another post from the band that day, showing Tyler struggling with the marquee, read, "Turns out, we’ll have to wait a bit longer… Should’ve known letting Steven do the marquee would take a few takes… More tomorrow." The message indicated that further details would follow later.
Guitarist Joe Perry had previously suggested last year that additional performances remained a possibility. The recent social media activity, particularly the marquee visuals, has made the prospect of new shows feel more concrete. If the band plans a return, potentially with special guests at the Hollywood Bowl, it could signal a new phase for the iconic group. Jacksonville music lovers will closely monitor news for any such announcement.
