Stewart’s Shops and the American Red Cross of Eastern New York are kicking off their annual ‘Give a Pint, Get a Pint’ campaign that has attracted more than 100,000 blood donors since the program started in 2016.

Stewart’s Shops and the American Red Cross of Eastern New York are kicking off their annual ‘Give a Pint, Get a Pint’ campaign that has attracted more than 100,000 blood donors since the program started in 2016. To help attract blood donations, Stewart’s Shops will donate a certificate for a free pre-packaged pint of Stewart’s ice cream or gelato to anyone who donates blood at a participating Red Cross location during the June 2026 campaign. There is a growing need for blood donations to treat accident victims, burn victims, cancer patients and community members recovering from surgery. Demand is so high that blood and platelet donations are needed every 2 seconds in the United States. “This campaign has become one of the most meaningful traditions for Stewart’s Shops because it combines community spirit with something truly lifesaving,” said Stewart’s president Chad Kiesow. “Summer is a busy time for families and blood donations often decline, but hospital patients still depend on donors every day. If a free pint of ice cream inspires someone to roll up their sleeve, we’re proud to be part of that effort.” To kick off the 11th annual ‘Give a Pint, Get a Pint campaign’ Stewart’s and the American Red Cross will host a press event at 2 pm on June 1st at the Stewart’s located at 2 Wellness Way in Latham. Flavor the Cow will be present to celebrate the kickoff along with officials from the American Red Cross, who will be available to answer questions. “The need for blood does not slow down in the summer, even though donations often do,” said Kevin Coffey, regional CEO of the American Red Cross of Eastern New York. “This partnership with Stewart’s Shops helps shine a spotlight on the ongoing need for donors in a fun, approachable and impactful way.
