La Plata County Office Hours Change in 2026
The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners approved new office hours for county departments on Tuesday, Jan. 13, effective in 2026.
Most county offices operate 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Durango-La Plata County Senior Center and Community Development Department operate Monday through Thursday only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. respectively.
The Clerk and Recorder's Motor Vehicle Division, Document Recording Unit and Elections Division (679 Turner Drive, Suite C) open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Bayfield satellite office (1199 Bayfield Parkway) operates 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
The Public Health Department office (185 Suttle Street, Suite 100) and clinic (150 Mercury Village Drive, Suite 115) open 8 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Road and Bridge and the Fleet Department (1365 S. Camino del Rio) operate 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
