Dumas Water Conservation Plan Active Through September
Staff Writer
June 11, 2026
The City of Dumas activated Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan this week, asking residents to voluntarily reduce water usage by 10% through September 30.
Residents may water lawns and gardens between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. City departments must follow the same restrictions. The city also requests that customers avoid non-essential water use during the conservation period.
City parks may adjust irrigation schedules around events, though total watering time will remain within plan limits. The conservation period runs annually from May through September. The city issued the announcement in English and Spanish.
