The City of Dumas would like to raise awareness and graciously asks for our citizens’ assistance in working together to conserve the available water supply. In order to protect the integrity of our water supply facilities during the recent scorching temperatures we have all been affected by, we are currently in Stage 1 of the “City Drought Contingency Plan” which runs annually between May and September, automatically. Stage 1: Summer Conservation Period: Goal: Achieve a voluntary 10% reduction in daily water demand. Voluntary Restrictions on Water Usage: -Customers are requested to voluntarily limit the watering of garden areas/grass and only water between 4:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. -All City operations will have to comply with water use restrictions prescribed for Stage 1 of the plan. However, City Park irrigation times may be adjusted to accommodate the needs of park users and park schedules/events, but compliance with the total time allowed for watering shall not be extended. -Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or disrupt the use of water for non-essential purposes. (Stage 1 of this plan shall be rescinded on the last day of September each year.) We understand this may be an inconvenience to many, but during this time, it is imperative that we work together to take care of everyone. We appreciate your willingness to participate. La ciudad de Dumas desea crear conciencia y pide amablemente la ayuda de nuestros ciudadanos para trabajar juntos para conservar el suministro de agua disponible. Para proteger la integridad de nuestras instalaciones de suministro de agua durante las recientes temperaturas abrasadoras que nos han afectado a todos, actualmente nos encontramos en la Etapa 1 del “Plan Municipal de Contingencia por Sequía” que se ejecuta anualmente entre mayo y septiembre, de forma automática. Etapa 1: Período de conservación de Verano: Meta: Lograr una reducción voluntaria del 10% en la demanda diaria de agua. Restricciones voluntarias al uso del agua: -Se solicita a los clientes que limiten voluntariamente el riego de las áreas del jardín/césped y solo rieguen entre las 4:00 a. m. – 10:00 a. m. y las 6:00 p. m. - 10:00 pm. -Todas las operaciones de la Ciudad deberán cumplir con las restricciones de uso de agua prescritas para la Etapa 1 del plan. Sin embargo, los tiempos de riego de City Park pueden ajustarse para adaptarse a las necesidades de los usuarios del parque y los horarios/eventos del parque, pero no se ampliará el cumplimiento del tiempo total permitido para el riego. -Se solicita a los clientes de agua que practiquen la conservación del agua y minimicen o interrumpan el uso del agua para fines no esenciales. (La etapa 1 de este plan quedará rescindida el último día de septiembre de cada año). Entendemos que esto puede ser un inconveniente para muchos, pero durante este tiempo, es imperativo que trabajemos juntos para cuidar de todos. Agradecemos su disposición a participar.
