Travelers in the Wasatch Mountains South of I-80 are advised to slow down and use caution as a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6:00 AM MDT on Wednesday, October 14. The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued this advisory, effective immediately as of 9:59 PM MDT on October 12.

Snow is expected, particularly at elevations above 8,500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are anticipated in upper Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, with higher amounts possible above 9,000 feet. Guardsman Pass is expected to see higher snowfall potential.

Winter driving conditions are anticipated, and early season snowfall on roadways may present a significant risk to unprepared travelers.
