Mono County Farmers Eligible for Federal Drought Disaster Aid
Staff Writer
May 15, 2026
Agricultural producers in Mono County can now apply for federal disaster assistance following a USDA designation that expanded an existing drought declaration.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture added Mono County as a contiguous disaster area on April 6, 2026, after initially designating Inyo, Riverside, and San Diego counties as primary disaster zones. The expansion allows local farmers and ranchers to access federal support programs.
