The National Weather Service Peachtree City GA issued the watch today, October 8, at 5:33 PM EDT, to remain in effect until October 11 at 8:00 AM EDT. East winds of 15 to 25 mph are possible, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph.

Affected counties include Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Chattooga, Gordon, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin, White, Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Hall, Banks, Jackson, Madison, Polk, Paulding, Cobb, North Fulton, Gwinnett, Barrow, Clarke, Oconee, Haralson, Carroll, Douglas, South Fulton, DeKalb, Rockdale, Walton, Newton, Coweta, Fayette, Clayton, Spalding, and Henry.

These conditions could lead to downed trees and power lines, with the potential for widespread power outages. Travel may also become difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles.
