Motorists in Dooly County are advised to slow down and prepare for potential loss of control due to hydroplaning as a Special Weather Statement for heavy rain has been issued by the National Weather Service Peachtree City, GA. This statement is effective immediately, October 3, 2026, at 8:34 PM EDT, and expires at 9:15 PM EDT.

At 8:32 PM EDT, moderate to heavy rain was reported over Lilly, or near Vienna, and is currently stationary. Radar indicates heavy rain is the primary hazard.

Residents should be aware that heavy rain may cause temporary street flooding, particularly in areas with poor drainage. Locations impacted include Vienna, Unadilla, Byromville, Pinehurst, Lilly, and Richwood.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution and adjust their speed accordingly to prevent hydroplaning until the statement expires.
