Our Mission The mission of Ascension Counseling Center is to provide individuals, couples, and families who reside in Ascension Parish with competent mental health and substance abuse services by highly qualified professionals to improve their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning to improve their lives. Mental Health Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples, & Families Learn More About Mental Health Treatment Individuals and/or families are evaluated by a mental health counselor to identify emotional and behavioral concerns.  Treatment may include individual and family counseling with psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring as needed. Addictive Disorders Adolescents & Adults Learn More About Addictive Disorders Clients complete a comprehensive evaluation with a substance abuse counselor to identify underlying concerns that contribute to addictive behavior.  Treatment identifies changes in behaviors, attitudes, and life styles necessary for recovery.  Substance abuse treatment is conducted in a group setting. Cost The agency is supplemented by a parish property tax and accepts Medicaid, insurance and individual payments. A sliding scale fee beginning at $5 is available to those who demonstrate need.
