CDC Advisory Committee Recommends Flu Vaccine for Children Ages 6 Months to 18 Years

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisory committee suggested expanding the recommended age range for annual influenza vaccinations. The updated recommendation covers all children from six months to 18 years old.

The immunization experts advised this change during a meeting earlier today. The expanded guidelines are scheduled to take effect as soon as possible, but no later than the 2009-2010 influenza season.
