The Dell Rapids Carnegie Library, a cornerstone of our community, operates under the guidance of a five-member Board of Trustees. Each trustee serves a three-year term and must be a resident of Dell Rapids city limits, ensuring a deep understanding of the needs of our town, from the historic downtown to the neighborhoods beyond.
The board convenes monthly to discuss library matters. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the library's meeting room, a space often used for community gatherings. These sessions are open to the public, offering residents an opportunity to stay informed about library services and operations.
The current members of the Library Board of Trustees include Kris Huska, serving as President; Carol Kuhl, as Vice President; and Sarah Hawkins, as Secretary. Patty Koch and Justin Larson also serve as board members.
The Library Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the Dell Rapids Carnegie Library, ensuring it continues to serve the informational and cultural needs of the community, a legacy built since its early days.
