Deer Park Students Tour Hofstra's Rare Book Collection

Librarians Evan DeNaro and Anne Lotito-Schuh brought their Library Leaders clubs from Deer Park High School and Robert Frost Middle School to Hofstra University's Axinn Library last month.

Students explored the graphic novel collection and viewed rare materials including a 1500s geometry book, a 1600s map of Long Island, and a first edition of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" with hand-painted edges. After the tour, they made accordion journals to record their observations.
