Deer Park Schools Win 14th Music Education Award
The Deer Park School District has won the Best Communities for Music Education Award for the 14th consecutive year, the NAMM Foundation announced.
The national award recognizes school districts that fund music programs, staff them adequately, maintain facilities, and offer band, orchestra, and vocal instruction across grade levels. Deer Park's 14-year streak places it among a small group of districts nationwide that have maintained the award for more than a decade.
"This honor reflects a true community effort," said Bradley Murphy, the district's Fine and Performing Arts Director. "Our educators, families, and students all play a vital role in sustaining a vibrant and inclusive music program."
The NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit associated with the National Association of Music Merchants, has recognized outstanding school music programs since 1999.
