Deer Park Boys Basketball Reaches Final Four 2027
Deer Park High School's varsity boys basketball team finished the 2026-2027 season with a 17-5 record and advanced to the Class AA Final Four for the 11th time since 2006. The team qualified for the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season.
Head coach John McCaffrey's squad went 7-1 at home during the regular season and won a home playoff game. The Falcons' home playoff record now stands at 17-2 since 2011.
Five players earned postseason honors: Damien Scott collected All-League, All-Conference and All-County awards and earned selection to the Alzheimer Association Exceptional Suffolk vs. Nassau All-Star Game. Nusanti Delbridge received All-League and All-Conference honors. Drew Delargy earned All-League recognition and Academic All-County honors. Reggie Jean Louis made the Class AA All-Tournament team. Brandon Sorrese won League 3 Unsung Hero.
Delargy, Scott and Sorrese will compete in the Suffolk PAL Exceptional Senior game.
The Falcons will return 10 lettermen next season and draw from the junior varsity team coached by Paul McKenzie and the Robert Frost Middle School team coached by Kevin Cogan. Both feeder programs posted winning records this season.
