New graduates should build resumes that highlight skills developed through coursework, internships, and part-time work, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and technical abilities. Use clear language to describe achievements and align skills with specific job descriptions.
Networking opens doors faster than most job search methods. Graduates should contact classmates, professors, internship supervisors, and professionals in their chosen fields. Career fairs, virtual events, and LinkedIn provide venues to meet recruiters and learn about available roles.
The Department of Veterans Affairs actively recruits new graduates for clinical positions. The VA operates more than 170 medical centers and partners with over 190 medical schools and 1,500 colleges and universities. Positions offer mentorship, access to advanced technology, and team-based care experience. Interested candidates can explore opportunities at VA Careers or search USAJOBS, the federal government's official employment site.
