Dayton Council Awards $6,000 Grant to Imagination Library

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

The Dayton City Council approved a $6,000 donation to the United Way of Rhea County to support the Imagination Library, a program that mails free books monthly to children from birth to age five.

The United Way administers the program locally. Enrolled children receive one book per month at no cost until their fifth birthday. Parents can register at imaginationlibrary.com.

The donation covers procurement and distribution costs, allowing the program to expand its reach across Rhea County.
