Davie residents interested in exploring the Catholic faith or deepening their understanding can join the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program. The OCIA process guides individuals through formal faith formation, offering instruction and spiritual development within the community.
The program serves three groups: catechumens, who are unbaptized individuals seeking to become Catholic; candidates, who are baptized Christians from other denominations wishing to join the Catholic Church; and adult Catholics who have been baptized but not yet confirmed. Participants receive instruction in essential Catholic beliefs and practices.
OCIA provides a comprehensive learning experience in Catholic traditions and teachings. For non-Catholics, it offers a structured path to an informed decision about joining the Church. Upon completion, participants who meet requirements can receive the Sacraments of Initiation, including Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
The ten-month program typically runs from early September through early May, with dates adjusted annually according to the liturgical calendar. Weekly instruction sessions occur on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Interested individuals should contact the Parish Office for more information. An application form is available for download or pick-up at the church office.
