The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued this warning, urging immediate action. At 9:38 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 miles west of Asheboro to 8 miles east of Ansonville, moving east at 15 mph. The primary hazard is 60 mph wind gusts, according to radar indications.

Impacts are expected to include damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations such as Asheboro, Randleman, Troy, Badin Lake, North Carolina Zoo, Biscoe, Seagrove, Norwood, Badin, and Ramseur are affected. This also includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 28 and 81.
