Heat Advance in Play-In Tournament, Defeat Hornets 118-105
The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 118-105 in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Herro contributed 22 points, and Norman Powell added 20 points for Miami.
The Heat, seeded 10th with a 43-39 regular season record, secured their advancement to the next round of the tournament. The Hornets, who finished as the 9th seed with a 44-38 record, are eliminated from playoff contention.
Charlotte's Brandon Miller led all scorers with 28 points. LaMelo Ball provided 18 points and 8 assists for the Hornets. The Heat had previously won the season series against the Hornets, 3-1. Miami entered the game following a 143-117 win over the Hawks in their regular-season finale. The Hornets secured their Play-In position with a 110-96 victory against the Knicks.
