Kenneth Wayne Ayers, a longtime ironworker and devoted family man, died Sept. 19, 2026, at age 71. Known to most as Wayne, he lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering faith, generosity, and a selfless willingness to help others in his Davenport community.
Born Sept. 5, 1955, in Bartow, Florida, Wayne was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian Loretta Ayers. He was a charter member of Local 808, where he built lasting friendships and brotherhood among fellow ironworkers. He approached his profession with integrity and commitment, earning the respect of colleagues on jobs across Polk County.
Wayne embraced new experiences and consistently lent a helping hand, always prioritizing the needs of others. His generosity included patience, encouragement, compassion, and support. He freely gave his time, energy, and heart.
Family was central to Wayne’s life. He deeply loved his wife, Tanya, and took immense pride in his children, Kristin, Kenneth, and Leah, and his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Anthony, and Ariana. He cherished time spent with them and found special joy in his role as a grandfather. Despite the sorrow of losing loved ones, including his son Thomas, Wayne maintained steadfast love for his family.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held Oct. 10, 2026, at 1 p.m. at 2855 E Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
