MCSO Officer Finds Missing Elderly Woman in Manatee County

Staff Writer
June 1, 2026

Community Service Officer Oscar Aguero-Yovera found a missing elderly woman with dementia near a community pool on Nov. 2, 2025, earning him the Manatee County Sheriff's Office Employee of the Month for January 2026.

The woman had left her home without her family's knowledge. When deputies responded to the missing person report, Aguero-Yovera conducted a foot search through dense foliage near the pool and located her. Deputies then helped return her home.

MCSO officials credited Aguero-Yovera's immediate action with bringing about a safe outcome.
