The Crittenden County Judge is the chief executive officer for the county government. The judge: Authorizes and approves the disbursement of all appropriated county funds Operates the system of county roads Administers ordinances enacted by the quorum court Has custody of county property Accepts grants from federal, state, public, and private sources Hires county employees except those employed by other elected officials of the county Presides over the quorum court without a vote, but with the power of veto Responsible for creating an annual budget for quorum court approval Negotiates quotes annually for employee healthcare Oversee's Office of Emergency Management Only person who can authorize payment for claims The office of Veteran's Affairs falls within the office of the County Judge In the event of a county emergency, the County Judge can declare a State of Emergency The County Judge issues burn bans throughout the county when necessary Regular office hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday
