Texas Tech Claims Lubbock Regional Title, Advances to Super Regionals

Texas Tech defeated Ole Miss 14-2 to win the Lubbock Regional title on Sunday. Jackie Lis drove in five runs for Texas Tech in the championship game. This victory advances Texas Tech to the Gainesville Super Regional, where they will play Florida in a best-of-three series.
Lis also contributed significantly in Texas Tech's prior game against Ole Miss on Saturday, hitting a two-run home run and scoring the game-winning run in a comeback victory. Texas Tech scored double-digit runs in all three of its regional games. The team generated offense through various methods, moving beyond reliance on home runs.
NiJaree Canady, a former travel ball teammate of Lis, contributed a two-run double for Texas Tech during the tournament. The Red Raiders will begin Super Regional play on Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN2.
