FDA Identifies False Positive in Cyclospora Outbreak Lettuce Sample

WASHINGTON – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Saturday that a test sample of Taylor Farms lettuce, initially reported as positive for cyclospora, was a false positive. This development introduces new complexity into the ongoing investigation of a cyclospora outbreak that has sickened thousands across the country.

FDA officials stated that no food products have tested positive for cyclospora in connection with the current outbreak. The agency continues its investigation to determine the source of the contamination.
