Special weather statement issued for Cynthiana

Residents in Cynthiana and surrounding northeastern counties should be aware of a potential for isolated frost late tonight, according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service Louisville KY on April 20, 2026. Clear skies and weak northeasterly flow are expected to cause temperatures to dip into the low to mid 30s before sunrise in river valleys.

While the probability of frost is low, less than 20%, there is a slight threat to sensitive vegetation in these isolated areas. Residents with gardens or plants that could be affected are advised to take precautions.
