Cutler Bay: Dedicate a Park Bench to Honor Loved Ones

Cutler Bay residents can now honor loved ones or celebrate special occasions by donating to the Miami-Dade Parks Bench Dedication Program. The initiative allows individuals to purchase a personalized bronze plaque for an existing park bench. Donations support parks countywide, including those in Cutler Bay such as Cutler Ridge Hammocks and Whispering Pines Park.

The application process is ongoing. Donors select a park and purchase a plaque from a chosen supplier. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces must approve the plaque's design and text. Plaques will measure no more than 3” x 10” and be 3/16” thick. They will be installed on the backrest of eligible benches without existing plaques.

The program offers a lasting tribute while contributing to the upkeep and enhancement of Miami-Dade's park system.
