The Miami Marlins contributed $15,000 to the Miccosukee Tribe to support educational initiatives for the tribe's youth. The donation, announced Sept. 27, 2026, aims to build upon the existing relationship between the baseball organization and the Miccosukee Tribe.
The Marlins formally presented the donation during a pregame ceremony at loanDepot park on Friday, Sept. 25. Miccosukee Assistant Chairman Ronnie Billie accepted the check and threw a ceremonial first pitch. Members of the Miccosukee Tribe also participated in various experiences throughout the evening. The festivities concluded with postgame fireworks presented by Miccosukee Casino & Resort.
“This contribution is an investment in the next generation, but it is also about the power of our partnership and what we can accomplish together,” said Robert Gelman, Miami Marlins Vice President of Partnership Development and Marketing. “We look forward to continuing to build on our relationship with Miccosukee at loanDepot park and throughout the South Florida community.”
Miccosukee Chairman Talbert Cypress stated, “This generous contribution in recognition of American Indian Day extends beyond a single celebration—it supports our youth and demonstrates what meaningful partnerships can accomplish for future generations.” The donation is part of the Marlins' commitment to positively impacting South Florida and strengthening their partnership with the Miccosukee Tribe.
