Residents in Pueblo, eastern Fremont County, and the Wet Mountains (between 6300 and 10000 feet) should seek shelter indoors immediately. A strong thunderstorm capable of producing wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph is moving northeast at 55 mph, according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Pueblo CO at 7:22 PM MDT on October 11.

This storm was last tracked 14 miles north of Greenhorn Mountain, approximately 22 miles southwest of Pueblo. The NWS indicates the primary hazard is wind gusts, which could knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects.

Impacted locations include Pueblo, Pueblo Airport, Pueblo Reservoir, Salt Creek, Blende, Pueblo West, Penrose, Rye, Beulah, Wetmore, San Isabel, and Colorado City. This Special Weather Statement is effective immediately and expires at 7:45 PM MDT tonight, October 11, 2026.

If you are outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety during this period.
