Wind Advisory Issued for Local Beaches, Gusts Up to 50 MPH Expected

Residents and visitors in Maryland Beaches, Currituck County in North Carolina, and Accomack, Northampton, and Virginia Beach in Virginia should prepare for strong winds. A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Wakefield VA, effective from 11:17 PM EDT tonight, September 23, until 8:00 PM EDT tomorrow, September 24.

Northeast winds of 30 to 40 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph. These conditions can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The NWS advises using extra caution on the roads.

Impacts from the strong winds may include unsecured objects being blown around. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. Residents are encouraged to secure any outdoor items that could be affected by high winds.
