The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield, VA, has issued a Beach Hazards Statement effective from 8 AM EDT this morning, October 11, until this evening.
A High Surf Advisory is also in effect until 4 PM EDT today, with large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet expected in the surf zone. These conditions create dangerous swimming and surfing environments and could lead to localized beach erosion.
