Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution as a Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for a large portion of Middle Tennessee. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued the advisory, effective immediately until 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, October 12th.

Visibility is expected to be reduced to between one-quarter and one-half mile in dense fog, creating hazardous driving conditions. Affected counties include Sumner, Macon, Clay, Pickett, Wilson, Trousdale, Smith, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, Rutherford, Cannon, De Kalb, White, Cumberland, Bedford, Coffee, Warren, Grundy, and Van Buren.

The NWS advises motorists to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others on the road. These precautions are critical to ensure safety during periods of low visibility.
