High Wind Watch Issued: Prepare for Gusts Up to 70 MPH This Weekend

A High Wind Watch has been issued for multiple counties in Northern Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, warning of gusts up to 70 mph from Saturday morning through Sunday morning, with potential for power outages and difficult travel.

Residents across Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb, Cullman, Moore, Lincoln, and Franklin counties are advised to monitor weather updates as a High Wind Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Huntsville, AL.

The watch is in effect from Saturday morning, October 10th, through Sunday morning, October 11th. Southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph are possible, with gusts potentially reaching 50 mph across all of Northern Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee. Higher terrain areas could experience gusts between 60 to 70 mph.
