East Dundee Sound Stage Breaking Ground Summer 2025

The Village of East Dundee will begin construction this summer on a permanent sound stage at 120 Railroad Street, a new venue for concerts, theater and community events in the downtown area.

The Village Board will approve a construction contract following a formal bidding process. Chicago-based Wight & Company designed the project after the village purchased the property in 2025.

The sound stage anchors a broader civic park that includes a permanent pavilion, open lawn seating, a gateway arch, an outdoor fireplace and swings. The village also plans to convert Meier Street to two-way traffic to improve downtown access.

The Village Board approved Phase I designs on June 2, 2025, and Phase II work on October 20, 2025. Wight & Company completed final architectural and engineering plans in early 2026.
