Seasonally, from May to September, the agency employs approximately 60 certified ocean lifeguards who perform hundreds of water rescues, thousands of preventative actions, and extensive public education. In addition to lifeguard services, the Division provides beach ranger services within the city limits. These rangers are responsible for enforcing beach rules and regulations, managing on-beach parking, and promoting water safety and prevention. The Division of Ocean Rescue is a certified agency through the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA). Emergencies In the event you encounter an emergency on the beach, Call 911 immediately.
