Wind Advisory Issued: Prepare for Gusts Up to 45 MPH

A Wind Advisory has been issued for a significant portion of Middle Tennessee, effective from 4 AM to 8 PM CDT on Saturday, October 10. Residents in affected areas should prepare for east winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph.

The National Weather Service Nashville, TN, issued this advisory today, October 9, at 10:51 AM CDT. The advisory covers the following counties: Stewart, Montgomery, Robertson, Sumner, Macon, Clay, Pickett, Houston, Humphreys, Dickson, Cheatham, Davidson, Wilson, Trousdale, Smith, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, Perry, Hickman, Lewis, Williamson, Maury, Marshall, Rutherford, Cannon, De Kalb, White, Cumberland, Bedford, Coffee, Warren, Grundy, Van Buren, Wayne, Lawrence, and Giles.

These strong winds are expected to blow around unsecured objects. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and a few power outages occurring.

The National Weather Service advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Exercise extra caution if you must travel during this period. Secure any outdoor items that could be displaced by strong winds.
