Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Region: Drive with Caution Until 11 AM
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 11 AM EDT today for parts of south-central Indiana and central Kentucky, with visibility reduced to one-quarter to one-half mile, prompting a warning for drivers to slow down and use headlights.
Drivers in south-central Indiana and north-central, northwest, and south-central Kentucky are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville, KY, has issued the advisory, which is in effect until 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) today, October 12.
Visibility is significantly reduced to between one-quarter and one-half mile in dense fog conditions. This low visibility can make driving hazardous.
The affected counties include Orange, Washington, Scott, Jefferson, Crawford, Perry, Harrison, Floyd, and Clark in Indiana. In Kentucky, the advisory covers Hancock, Breckinridge, Meade, Ohio, Jefferson, Oldham, Trimble, Butler, and Logan counties.
The NWS urges all motorists to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others on the road. The advisory will expire at 11:00 AM EDT today.
