Wind Advisory Issued: Prepare for Gusts Up To 40 MPH
A Wind Advisory has been issued by NWS Las Vegas for parts of Arizona, California, and Nevada, active from 8 PM tonight until 5 AM Monday, with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Las Vegas for portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and south central and southern Nevada, effective from 8:00 PM PDT/MST this evening, October 11, until 5:00 AM PDT/MST Monday, October 12.
Residents in the Northwest Plateau, Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave, Lake Mead (AZ side), Lake Mohave (AZ side), Hualapai Mountains, Northwest Deserts, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, Lincoln County, Northeast Clark County, Sheep Range, Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon, Southern Clark County, Lake Mead (NV side), and Lake Mohave (NV side should prepare for south winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph.
These conditions may blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down. Isolated power outages are also possible. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Exercise extra caution when traveling during this period.
