FDOT seeks public input on U.S. 98 trail project in Wakulla County

The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a hybrid public meeting Thursday, August 20, to discuss a shared-use trail project along U.S. 98 in Wakulla County.

The meeting runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Panacea Community Center, 115 Otter Lake Road. Residents can attend in person or virtually.

Project Manager Jimmy Smith will present plans for the trail, which would provide pedestrian and bicycle access along the corridor. FDOT posted maps, drawings, and project materials online at www.nwflroads.com/projects/437090-8.

Residents can submit written comments to Smith through Monday, August 31. FDOT will review feedback before finalizing plans.

Anyone needing special accommodations should contact the Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners Administration Office at least two days before the meeting: 850-926-0919, hearing and voice impaired line 1-800-955-8771, or [email protected].

Anyone planning to appeal decisions from the meeting must ensure a verbatim record of proceedings is made, including all testimony and evidence.
