Rodgers' return to Pittsburgh reunites him with head coach Mike McCarthy. The pair previously spent 13 seasons together in Green Bay, reaching the playoffs in nine of those campaigns. Their tenure included eight consecutive playoff appearances and a Super Bowl XLV victory during the 2010-2011 season. Rodgers also secured two NFL MVP awards, in 2011 and 2014, while under McCarthy's coaching.
In his first season with the Steelers, Rodgers led the team to the playoffs. Pittsburgh secured a postseason berth by winning its regular-season finale against the Baltimore Ravens. The Houston Texans eliminated the Steelers during Wild Card Weekend.
During the 2025-2026 season, Rodgers completed 65.7% of his passes for 3,322 yards. He also threw 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Steelers will open their 2026 season at home against the Atlanta Falcons.
