A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, affecting a wide area until 11:00 AM CDT today, September 30, 2026. Residents in the affected regions should be prepared for continued reduced visibility while traveling.

The advisory is in effect for numerous counties across Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. In Iowa, this includes Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Sioux, O'Brien, Clay, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Woodbury, and Ida counties. South Dakota counties include Beadle, Kingsbury, Brookings, Gregory, Jerauld, Sanborn, Miner, Lake, Moody, Brule, Aurora, Davison, Hanson, McCook, Minnehaha, Charles Mix, Douglas, Hutchinson, Turner, Lincoln, Bon Homme, Yankton, Clay, and Union.

The National Weather Service reports that dense fog will gradually dissipate over the next one to two hours. Drivers should anticipate potential slowdowns due to lower visibility conditions throughout the remainder of the morning.
