A graveside military service for Vietnam veteran Edward Lee "Ed" Tallent will take place Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Valhalla Memory Gardens. He was 77.

A graveside military service for Edward Lee "Ed" Tallent, a Vietnam War veteran and former machinist, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Valhalla Memory Gardens. David McNeill will officiate. There will be no prior visitation.
Mr. Tallent, 77, of Robertsdale, Alabama, died Sept. 25, 2026. Born July 21, 1949, in Harvest, Alabama, he grew up there. He worked 23 years at Bruderer in Huntsville, Alabama, and later as a machinist at Segers in Robertsdale.
Like his father, Charles "Bud" Tallent, Ed had a mechanical aptitude and enjoyed working on cars, especially restoring old vehicles. He also cherished time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tallent; daughters Nicole Garner (Duane), Heather Shaw and Whitney Blessing; and sisters Gail Knox and Linda Wilbanks. He also leaves seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, plus three great-grandchildren by marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bud" and Nina Durham Tallent, and his stepson, Anthony "Tony" Upchurch.
