The University of Miami Business School in Coral Gables established guidelines for Artificial Intelligence (AI) use in graduate admissions applications. The policy, effective August 1, 2025, encourages responsible AI tool usage while stressing authenticity and personal integrity.
The guidelines apply to all prospective graduate business students. Applicants may use AI to organize and refine application materials, but submitted content must reflect their own experiences and qualifications. Applicants must explicitly disclose all AI-generated or enhanced content and properly cite direct quotations from AI sources.
The university prohibits AI use for language fluency during interviews and assessments. Candidates must communicate in English without technological assistance. Misrepresentation through AI-generated content violates the university's academic integrity policy and may lead to application rejection or admission revocation.
The University of Miami Business School also reserves the right to use AI in its admissions processes. The guidelines will undergo annual review to adapt to evolving AI technologies.
