Year-End Giving

As the end of 2025 approaches, it gives us time to reflect on the year and the many blessings we are thankful for every day. For us, it was celebrating our one-year anniversary at our new hospital and the generosity of our donors! South Florida Baptist Hospital continues to provide exceptional care for our patients as clinical excellence is our priority. The Foundation provides valuable resources to support the needs of the hospital and patients. This year, $1.5M was allocated to the hospital to purchase patient care equipment and complete construction projects. Funds also supported community outreach, scholarships for local college bound seniors, SFBH team members pursuing nursing degrees and those attending professional conferences. In our new hospital, the Foundation has taken great strides to represent all of our donors through beautiful new recognition signage. Digital and traditional types of recognition are used to express our gratitude. The Rowena Mays-M.E. Moody Keystone Circle donor society recognizes donors who donate $1,000 or more annually. Benefits of membership include name recognition on our new digital screens in the main hospital lobby. Supporting SFBH Foundation is an investment in health care in Plant City. Your gifts of any size assist us to fulfill our mission. Won’t you please consider donating by adding us to your charitable year-end gift list. Educational Scholarships

SFBH Foundation-sponsored scholarships allow hospital team members and area high school students to further their education in nursing and all ed health careers. Hospital Team Members Educational scholarships are awarded to South Florida Baptist Hospital team members who have enrolled in accredited programs approved by BayCare Health Systems, maintain a certain grade point average and enroll in a minimum number of hours each semester. Financial support is offered for tuition, books and other education-related expenses. Educational Scholarships offered: A maximum of two $5,000 South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarships for qualified team members. The Ann Hammer Trinkle $5,000 Nursing Scholarship – awarded to a qualified team member. The Betty Grimes Memorial $5,000 Nursing Scholarship - awarded to a qualified team member. The Mary C. Marchner Memorial $5,000 Nursing Scholarship - awarded to a qualified team member. The Mike Marchner Memorial $5,000 Nursing Scholarship - awarded to a qualified team member. Conference scholarships are awarded to South Florida Baptist Hospital team members in any healthcare field. Four scholarships are available - 2 nursing and 2 health care professionals. If you ever wanted to attend a conference to learn new information or network with others in your specialty, now is your chance. Applications for Conference scholarships are available October 1 - November 30 and Education scholarships are available January 1 - February 28. More information is available via the Intranet (Team BayCare) search scholarships. High School Students Deserving local high school seniors from Plant City High School, Durant High School or Strawberry Crest High School may apply for scholarships if they meet a minimum GPA and plan to major in a health-related field. Three scholarships named in memory of James L. Redman are presented at the award ceremony of each high school. The funds are mailed to the school of the student’s choice to pay towards tuition. Applications are available (January – March) in the Guidance Office in each respective High School.
